If you are looking for a pet, we hope you will visit Pets Without Parents shelter. Make certain you are looking for the right reasons and the right pet for your lifestyle. Consider such things as your children, travel, work hours, current pets, yard size, and finances. Some pets are better suited for certain people and vice versa. Our staff is always willing and ready to speak to you about the pets. The staff is rather small, so we all get to know each and every animal very well. We take the adoption process very seriously. Every adopted pet comes with the following package:
  • Spay/neuter
  • Vaccinations while at the shelter
  • Dewormer
  • General Veterinary Examination
  • Rabies Shot, if three+ months
  • Feline Leukemia/FIV test for all cats and kittens
  • Heartworm Test for all dogs six+ months

Cats and Kitties for Adoption

(Dog/Puppies Below)

Kenya

(1.5 years/spayed female)

Visit Kenya at the Petco Lennox.  She's craving attention and would so very much appreciate your TLC.

Sidney

(10 months/spayed female)

Brooklyn

(3 months/spayed female)

Please stop by Petco Lennox to meet Brooklyn.  She is quite lonely and is growing up before our eyes.  Please help this girl out.

India

3 years/ spayed female

India used to roam the streets with no one who would claim her.  Now that she's with us, she is enjoying the comforts of a warm bed and fresh food.  What she's not enjoying, however, is being cooped up in a cage.  This independent girl would love a big home to spend the rest of her life.  And did we mention she's been at PWP for THREE YEARS?!!

Charlotte

(6 months/spayed female)

Maggie

(3 months/spayed female)

Maggie is a beautiful kitty.  We're hoping she gets adopted before she grows up at the shelter into a beautiful cat.

Mitzy

(2 years/spayed female)

One day, PWP received a phone call from a vet.  The vet told us a client took her cat to the clinic to have her euthanized.  Meet Mitzy.  According to the owner, Mitzy was mean.  The vet, however, saw much differently and told the owner Mitzy would go to a shelter to find a new home.  The vet also knew the family had a history of trying to euthanize their cats after only a few years.  There really are no words to explain such an absurdity.  So, fortunately, Mitzy found a guardian angel and now lives at PWP, awaiting her forever (and safe) home.

Zola

(2 years/spayed female)

You'll find Zola hanging out in PWP's office.  She was abandoned at our front door, but has made herself quite at home.  We don't want her to get too comfy.  It's time that Zola finds her match.

Addison

(1+ year/spayed female)

Addison came to PWP a year ago with her babies.  They've all been adopted, except for poor mama.

Bernadette

3 years/spayed female

Bernadette came to us over two years ago with her babies.  All of her babies have long been adopted, but Bernadette still waits.  She's earned the title, "Queen of the Condo," as she rules the roost in the cat condo.

In order to give Bernadette more roaming space, we tried to let her stay at Complete Petmart - a local store who will host our cats.  Sadly, they asked us to take her back because she didn't like being held by all of the customers.  Can you really blame her, though? We just know there has to be someone out there who will understand her.

Please give this sweet mama a chance.

Lacey

(8 weeks/spayed female)

Usually kitties don't stick around too long.  People come through the door, "ooh" and "awe" over the itty bitties and adopt one.  Lacey, though, has not seen her humans walk through the door.  It's likely because she's black.  Black kittens usually grow up at the shelter because they are constantly overlooked.  Help break the cycle!  Adopt sweet Lacey.

Juno

(1 year/spayed female)

If you want a sweet cat, this is your girl.  Juno was literally thrown onto our front steps.  She was likely taken from her babies, as her teats were full of milk.  Juno, being the sweet girl she is, agreed to become a surrogate mom.  She nursed several kitties, without ever a complaint.  Now that Juno is free of this responsibility, she'd really like to find a home where she can live happily ever after.

We are overflowing with kittens!

Monica and Ross

(6 months/neutered male/spayed female)

These kittens have been at the shelter for four months!  That's right - FOUR MONTHS!  These babes are sweet, too.  FOUR MONTHS!  Enough said - come by and rescue one!

Want a long haired kitty?  We have 'em!
How about a short haired kitty?

We have 'em, too!

Jasper

(10 weeks/neutered male)

Look how cute!  Jasper is the last of a very large litter.  The director describes him as "crazy sweet."  Oftentimes, people tell us they want to adopt a loving cat, but don't know how to find one.  Word of advice:  take the director and staff's recommendation!  They're  with the pets 24/7.  All of them give Jasper two paws up!

Johnny and Pirate

(4 months/neutered males)

Even those these two are incredibly sweet and beautiful, they've been at the shelter for over 2 months!  A cage is no place for a kitten to grow up.  They need room to run and explore.  Because these two are black, they don't appear "special" enough to most of our visitors.  Johnny and Pirate would feel so special if someone would come through the door just to meet them.

Tangerine and Plum

(5 months/neutered males)

If you stop by PWP, you'll find these cuties hanging out in the "Kitten Kondo."  PWP has had more felines than we can handle, so we've had to make another condo.  Tangerine and Plum were quite scared when we met them, but they're coming along.  It would be great if you could stop by just to spend some time with them - show them that humans aren't so bad.  Who knows?  Maybe you'll end up falling in love.

Winter

(1.5 years/spayed female)

Winter came to the shelter with her six babies.  She took great care of them and then sadly had to watch as they all found homes.  While we're sure she enjoys the extra space in her cage, we know she's like to find a home just as her babies already have.

Odin

(5 months/neutered male)

Look how cute!  We don't understand why Odin keeps getting overlooked.  His personality screams, "PICK ME!"  Why not be the first human to listen to him?

Rachel

(6 months/spayed female)

If you want a cat with personality, adopt Rachel.  Just look at her!  How can you resist?

Tess

(5 months/spayed female)

Did you know that during Halloween most shelters don't adopt black cats?  Sadly, some people are sick and ...you can let your imagination fill in the blanks.  What this means for all of our black cats is that's just more time of sitting and waiting for their home to come along.  How about adopting Tess so she doesn't have to sit and wait?

Archie, Abigail, Alice

(8 weeks/spayed females and neutered male)

These baby dolls were part of an unwanted litter.  How would you like that title - "unwanted"?  Before it starts to get to these three, make them wanted and come by to adopt them.

Vega

(3 years/spayed female)

As you can see from the pic, Vega loves getting pet.  Stop by the cat condo and give her a chin scratch.

Omar and Orlando

(8 weeks/neutered male)

Laquisha

(10 weeks/spayed female)

Laquisha and her brother were abandoned at the shelter.  As if that weren't bad enough, now Laquisha sits alone in her cage because her brother found a home.  Now it's her turn.  Can't you provide a loving place for her?

Dogs and Puppies for Adoption

(Cats/Kitties above)

Natty

(2 years/pit mix/spayed female)

This is the sweet mama dog who has raised her adorable pups.  We worry that Natty will have to wait for a very long time to find a forever home and watch all of her babies leave.  She is a great mama - she loves to play with her babies and is quite gentle (wanna adopt mama and a pup???!!!)  Please come by to meet Natty.  She is an amazingly loving dog with a great spirit.  She would love to meet you.

The "Beer" litter

(12 weeks/neutered males)

Wow -as you can see, these babes are growing up before our eyes.  They came to us in their mama's womb (she's pictured to the side).  Now they're bouncing bundles of puppy love.  They are super, super sweet, well-socialized pups.  Don't believe the myths about pits!  Do some more research and see how many people are happy with their pits.  We're sure you'll fall in love if you'll just give them a chance.

Boop

(1.5 years/Beagle mix/spayed female)

Boop traveled from the hills of southern Ohio to the "big" city.  She has dreams of finding a home where she'll be the love of her family's lives.  Boop is a sweet girl who simply wants TLC.

UPDATE:  Boop is in foster care.  To arrange a meeting, email Amy - amy@petswithoutparents.net

Buddy

(8 years/mix/neutered male)

If there's one word to describe Buddy right now, it would have to be miserable.  This poor guy is a victim of the foreclosure crisis.  His family abandoned him at their former home.  On top of this heartache, Buddy is very overweight and in need of much exercise and a better diet.  Despite all this not-so-good news, Buddy is still a lover.  However, he absolutely hates his cage.  Who can blame him?  After living in a home for eight long year, a 4X4 cage is a pitiful life.  Do you have room in your home and heart for this sweet guy?  If not, could you come by and spend some time with him, taking him on short walks so he can shed some of his weight?  He sure would appreciate it.
